my electricity

we stated doing the second code on the floor in our workshop.we had to get respirators as the smell of that paint was too strong.it did not realy take us a lot of time because that workshop is not that big and it was four of us.after we finished painting we went to sehoale where other students were busy installing a cable and puting up a new distribution board.

from 8h00 today we started cleaning our workshop as it was dirty and full of things that had been fixed and other things that were not working.we took all the things that had been fixed to their rightful owners and we took all the thing that were not working and torn apart and threw them away.as peole we have to work in a safe and clean environment and that is why we are cleaning that workshop of ours so that we can have enough space to move around and not trip over things that are just laying around.

after lunch we went to the computer room to do a fundamental module called BASIC CONCEPTS OF DATABASE MICROSOFT AND EXCEL.

we went back to town to pull the cables for plugs into skirtings.it did not take us a lot of time as it was a small job.we grinded 1 skirting into two halves so that it could fit on the wall.unfortunately we could not continue with our job as our supervisor was not feeling well,so we had to go back to our workshop at sondela.

we went to the new sondela offices at town to pull the wires for the red plugs,network cables and telephone lines.it was a good experience for us bt it was a bit tough as we had to go into the ceiling and we had to bend as there was no enough space.we did not come back for lunch and we had to buy lunch at town because of the distance.

we managed to finish the job before three.we then came back and off loaded the tools that we were using and put our tool boxes back to our lockers and went to the computer room to update our blogs

in the morning we were assigned to go and file wooden chairs with sand paper because the vanish they used on them became sticky when it was exposed to the sun.we then went to sehoale village to the house that we were supposed to wire but unfortunately there was no one there so we had to go back to the workshop and continue with the filing.

in the afternoon we went to class because thre are still some fundamentals modules that we have not finished yet

today i went with my sister to build- it to buy the electrical material that i am going to use to wire her house.it was a bit exiting for me as this was my first time going to build-it to purchase material and diong the actual planning.i double checked my list just to make sure that i did not leave out a thing.i have been doing a lot of house wiring here in sondela bt this is going to be my first time to wire a house somewhere else from scratch.it is a four roomed house and i cant wait to start the job.

i came back after lunch and went to the computer room to update my blog.

we were busy doing our new module called low voltage networks.we are being taught how electricity is being stepped down from high voltage(abuot 22kv) to low voltage (380v/230v).the module is very interesting and it shows how electricity is being distributed.(from 8:00 until 12:00)

after lunch we were assigned to go to the main gate of the sondela nature reserve to make a wall with wood.it was quite a nice experience and it gave us a chance to apply the knowledge we got form the handyman course in the work place.

we buried the cable in the trench and.made sure that the trench was level and after that we packed our tools and went back to the workshop.that job was realy tiring but we managed to finish it in time because of team work.it was not the first time that we had to bury a cable.
when we got to the class room it was almost lunch so we filled in our job cards and submited them.

after lunch we went to the computer room to do research and to update our blogs as well.

the trip to lethabo power station

we left bela bela at about 6:30 in the morning and we got there at asbout 10:00.when we got there we were welcomed by the people at the visiting centre.we were taught about how electricity is generated and how it is being distributed.we were taught about conveyer belts and how they dispose of the ash from the coal that they burn.we were told that before a power station can be built they must be sure that the coal the is enough to last for 40 years.
